Happy 10th Anniversary! Thank You Fort Drum, Watertown & Tupper Lake.
Aloha friends! 10 years ago today, on October 7, 2010,
Doug and I and our little dog Daisy embarked on our year-long Duty, Honor, America Tour. It became an 18,067 mile journey for Doug and his bike, and 26,000 miles for me, Daisy and our RV “Simba.”
Doug cycled out of Watertown, New York with soldiers from nearby Fort Drum, home of the 10th Mountain Division, and other folks from Watertown, heading toward Tupper Lake on New York State Route 3. Thank you Michael Plummer and Kurt Ryan.
The podcast (click on Buzzsprout log-in link below--you don't need an account- look for the colored ‘Listen Now‘ link at the top), Episode 1 of the "What Really Helps: Bike+RV+Dog=50 States" series, follows our story of final preparations for that first day, highlighting the challenges we faced and incredible support we received to get the year-long tour started.
Remember: If you need help, get it. If you can help, offer it.
